Good news!

And the award for the best news of the week goes to...

...GRADUATION! ♥

It's a wonder how some papers with words and hieroglyphs on them can make you feel so free! And a little confused too, like my expression shows in the photo. Relief and disbelief also surfaced. Now I'm officially a graphic designer from the university of applied sciences, and a school girl no longer. So much hard work for a paper that doesn't necessarily even have a greater meaning later in life, but it feels good nonetheless. (Although I'm still fighting the urge to fold my diplomas into origami cranes and let the winds carry them away.)

There weren't any roses or bubbly toasts or warm handshakes that day, nor a ceremony of any kind. But I will throw a casual outdoor picnic party for my friends on Saturday, if the weather spirits allow it. :)

The Pointy End

It's funny how things can turn so quickly, in a sudden flash and a heartbeat. In other words, it's been a pretty tough couple of weeks. But nothing that life throws in the way feels too grave when I still have a loving spouse, family and friends, all with hearts of gold. Other things are just smoke and mirrors.

Well, luckily all things have a positive side. Only moments ago I had next to zero time, and now I have all the time in the world. Makes me feel a little empty and oh so excited at the same time! I can feel light pouring into my life again, through all the cracks and closing wounds. Things always work out for the better, although we might not see it at the times of trial.

The earrings are my favourite pair from all the ones I have. They were crafted by the lady behind the ever so wonderfully dark jewelry line, Blood Milk. I've craved for her designs for over three years, and finally rewarded myself with a treat! The funny thing is how they arrived precisely at the time when I felt like their name card, Two of Swords.

If we die, we'll meet again in Valhalla

I'm having the worst school hangover.

hoodie ~ Valhalla by Ovate /  baggy top ~ Actual Pain  /  wedge shoes ~ second hand
claw necklace ~ Fashionology / tights and the rest from misc. places

For the past two months that were so silent in my blogging, I did more schoolwork than in the past two years. And that's saying a lot. At the same time I managed my job so I've been trying to survive like a superheroine here. Superheroes usually dress up in tights and flexible fabrics and I must shamefully admit that's been my most usual look during this time. Sitting in front of a computer for 15 hours a day wearing tight skirts and a corset? Mmm... NO.

I'm currently living in a tight symbiosis with my lovely Ovate Valhalla hoodie. This is the look of today, I felt much like a modern jersey witch so I had to start making little shaman dances there, just for the occasion. My love said that I also look like a jedi knight or a Dementor, of course I took it as a compliment!

The reason for my complete absence is simple. I knew I had to save my skin and be cruel to my social relations and cut off some things from my life completely, in this case roller derby and this blog. I often felt like a mad scientist, burning the midnight oil to draw conclusions and ideas and experiments at a crazy pace, discarding all other things. And this is exactly what saved me, because this week I heard that I'm going to graduate soon! I must admit that I'm very proud of myself, although I'm not going to believe it before I get the papers in my hands.

And I feel that my thesis turned out pretty nicely, I will show you some peeks later. :)
I hope you've all been well!
